EDUCATION: Slow Theatre's purpose is to give Chico professionally acted and produced plays and to provide training for local residents to become better theatre craftspersons.

All classes are held at the 1078 Gallery in Chico (820 Broadway). 
                       Tuition is $125 for each section.

                  •JUNE CAMP
                                           •Section 1 Kids (ages 6-11) | M-F | June 9-13 and 16-20 | 10am-12noon
                                                                   •Section 2 Kids (ages 12-16) | M-F | June 9-13 and 16-20 | 1-3pm

Teacher Bios
*Amanda Detmer graduated from Chico State with her B.A. in Theatre Arts and then went on to earn her M.A. at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU her roles included Desdemona in Othello, Irina in Three Sisters, Pegeen Mike in Playboy of the Western World, and, under the direction of Tony Kushner, Zilla in A Bright Room Called Day.
     Detmer then traveled to Minnesota for her first professional role as Cecily in The Importance Of Being Ernest at the acclaimed Guthrie Theater.  She returned years later as Constanza in Amadeus.  Additional theatre credits include several "original" roles with Red Dog Squadron, a theatre company in Los Angeles she helped found, as well as Gloria Mitchell in the West Coast premiere of By the Way, Meet Vera Stark at the Geffen Playhouse.  Most recently, Detmer returned to her hometown of Chico to play Veronica in God of Carnage.
     Detmer has starred in the films Saving Silverman, Boys and Girls, Final Destination, and Big Fat Liar.   Independent film credits include American East, American Crude, Jam, and Kiss the Bride.
Her television credits include starring roles in the series A.U.S.A, MYOB, What About Brian, Man Up, and Necessary Roughness.  She has also guest starred on Psyche, Two and a Half Men,  The Mentalist, Law and Order C.I., and Baby Daddy.  She recently wrapped filming on the ABC\Sony Studios one-hour drama pilot Sea of Fire.

*Naphtali Jones is a hip hop dance teacher based in Chico, California.  She has taught at multiple Butte County elementary schools (Including Rosedale, Emma Wilson, and Park View) and at different dance studios in Chico.  She currently teaches dance for youth through C.A.R.D as well as weekly classes at RiseUp Dance studio.  She will teach movement at the Slow Theatre Youth Theatre Camps.

*Jeanne Christopherson (BFA Drama/Dance, Masters Performance, Culture and Education) has taught yoga and has taught, choreographed and performed dance in many formats for 25 years in Montana, New York, and California. She performed with Serge St. Juste's Nago Dancers in New York City, co-founding Honor Africa in 1992 and Nefertiti's Dozen in 1999. She also teaches at CSU-Chico and Butte College.
